Apple puts generative AI inside familiar applications
Apple Intelligence focuses on writing, images and personal context, with both device-side processing and a private cloud component.
Apple has announced Apple Intelligence for supported iPhone, iPad and Mac models. Writing assistance and image features are part of a wider plan to place generative models inside the applications people already use, rather than confining them to a separate chat window.
The company is describing a combination of on-device processing and Private Cloud Compute for more demanding requests. That architecture makes the handling of personal context an important part of the announcement. A useful assistant may need information, but users also need to understand where that information goes.
Availability and supported hardware will shape the practical rollout. The announcement is a roadmap, and individual features still need to prove their usefulness in daily work. A draft that saves time or a clearer summary matters more than the mere presence of an AI label.
