The iMac gets thinner, brighter and more colorful
The redesigned 24-inch iMac uses M1 to rethink the all-in-one desktop, with a renewed emphasis on the screen and video calls.
Apple has announced a redesigned iMac built around M1, pairing a 24-inch 4.5K display with a noticeably thin enclosure. A range of colors gives the machine a different character from the restrained aluminum desktops that have defined the line in recent years.
The update extends beyond the processor. A 1080p camera and revised audio hardware speak to a desktop role that increasingly includes meetings, lessons and family calls. The screen and the quality of those daily interactions may be more visible to many owners than a benchmark result.
An all-in-one remains a particular bargain: fewer boxes and cables in exchange for less freedom to change individual parts. The new iMac sharpens that proposition. Buyers should consider memory, storage and connections at purchase, especially if this is a machine they expect to keep for years.
