Amazon Bedrock adds GPT-6 Astra for enterprise AI workloads
AWS made OpenAI’s GPT-6 Astra generally available through Amazon Bedrock, including support for Bedrock APIs and configurations for ChatGPT Work and Codex.
Amazon Web Services has made OpenAI’s GPT-6 Astra generally available on Amazon Bedrock. Customers can call the model through Bedrock APIs and use it for software, file-based work, data analysis and multi-step automation. AWS also says organizations can configure ChatGPT Work and Codex to use Astra through Bedrock, bringing the model into environments already governed through Amazon’s cloud controls.
AWS says inference data is not used to train the model and customers do not need to opt into sharing prompts or outputs with OpenAI. Bedrock supplies familiar controls including identity and access management, private connectivity, encryption, logging and guardrails.
The general-availability release advances a partnership announced in April, when OpenAI models, Codex on Bedrock and managed agents were introduced in limited preview. It also intensifies competition among cloud marketplaces that offer multiple frontier-model families behind a common interface.
