Sony introduces PlayStation 4
Sony announces PlayStation 4 with x86 architecture, social sharing, streaming, and a controller built for a connected generation of games.

Sony’s PlayStation 4 uses an x86 processor architecture and a powerful graphics system designed to make development more familiar. The controller adds a touchpad and a share button.
Sony is also describing a more connected console experience. Plans include sharing gameplay and beginning a downloaded game before the entire file has arrived. These are promises for the forthcoming system rather than features available to PS3 owners today.
Sony is defining the PS4 around software and community as much as living-room hardware. Developers get a more accessible platform, while players are invited to treat play as something to share.
