Windows 7 focuses on a cleaner desktop

Microsoft releases Windows 7 with a redesigned taskbar, improved window management, broader hardware support, and a more measured desktop experience.

Windows 7 replaces the crowded taskbar with larger application buttons, jump lists, and a clearer way to arrange windows. Aero Snap makes dragging a window to an edge a useful command.

Microsoft also emphasizes compatibility and performance after the difficult Vista transition. Libraries, homegroup sharing, and touch support extend the desktop without abandoning the traditional keyboard and mouse.

The release is less about spectacle than confidence. Windows 7 asks users to upgrade because the everyday PC feels easier, faster, and more predictable.
